Origin/meaning

The first quarter shows the symbols of Saint Martin of Tours, the patron saint of the local church. The oak tree refers to the local forests.

The lower half is based on the arms of the Champagne region, in which the municipality is situated. The bend is now shaped as an inverted chevron forming the letter V, the town's initial.
