Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on April 15, 1937.

The lower part shows the arms of the Amt Menden, to which the village belonged. The kettle hook is a symbol taken from the arms of the Von Dahlhausen family, the oldest known owners of the Dahlhausen estate in the village.
