Origin/meaning

The municipality never used arms. The above arms were proposed in 2020 for the village.

The oldest name of the village was Perricbeci, which was mentioned in 820. This means stream-of-sheep. Hence the sheep and the wavy bar in the arms. The sheep also symbolises the Persebecker Heide, Menglinghauser Heide and Hegemanns Heide. The bar also refers to the Hövelbach and the Grotenbach rivers in the area.

In 1300 the village consisted of a manor house and three large farms (Krumme, Schulte and Overbeck). The three farm houses in the arms symbolise this. The golden field represents the wheat and rapeseed fields.

In 2020 Persebeck was to celebrate 1200 years of its first being named in a document. The above proposal was designed by one of the committee members for the celebrations, but was criticized due to the lack of historical evidence and it was seen as forced upon the committee without proper discussion.
