Selected collector's items from Germany:

GAMSTÄDT

State : Thüringen
District (Kreis) : Gotha
Additions : Gamstädt, Kleinrettbach
Incorporated into : 2009 Nesse-Apfelstädt

Wappen von Gamstädt

Official blazon

(de) In Blau oben eine schräglinke goldene Gambe, unterkreuzt von einem goldenen Bogen; darunter drei silberne Wellenfäden.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on January 14, 1998.

The arms are based on the symbols on the seals of the two former municipalities. The seal of Kleinrettbach showed the Siebgenquelle springs, which is symbolised by the waves in the lower part of the shield. The Rettbach stream originates from these springs.
The seal of Gamstädt showed a violin (or Gambe in the local dialect), making the arms canting.
