Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on October 2, 1968.
The cross is taken from the old arms, see below.
The old arms were granted in 1960.
The wavy bend symbolises the Sieg river, that runs through the municipality. The cross is derived from the arms of the State of Köln, as the western part of the village historically belonged to Köln. The roses are derived from the arms of the Lords of Wildenburg-Hatzfeld, who ruled the eastern part of the village for a long time.
