NEUHAUS (OSTE)
State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Cuxhaven (until 1977 Land Hadeln)
Samtgemeinde : Samtgemeinde Am Dobrock
Official blazon
(de)
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted in 1948.
The upper half of the arms shows a lion holding a key. The village developed around the castle built in 1404 by Otto von Braunschweig, Archbishop of Bremen. The lion is derived from the arms of the Welfen family, Dukes of Braunschweig. The key is the key of the city and State of Bremen.
The lower half shows the front of a house, which is a canting element (Haus). The hook is a boat-hook, a symbol for the importance of shipping and sailing on the Oste and Aue rivers.
Emergency money from 1921 for the former district Neuhaus an der Oste |
