PUSCHENDORF
State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Fürth
Official blazon
(de) Über rotem Zinnenschildfuß gespalten; vorne in Gold ein golden bewehrter halber schwarzer Adler am Spalt; hinten in Silber ein grüner Eichenzweig mit drei Blättern.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on November 30, 1977.
The eagle in the arms is derived from the arms of the city of Nürnberg, which owned the village from 1527-1813. The oak branch symbolises the large oak tree, which is supposedly over 1000 years old, in the village. The base shows a wall, which symbolises the small medieval hunting castle that was built in the village. After a crime the castle was destroyed and a church was built instead, the St. Wolfgang church.
