Schräggeviert; Feld 1: in Blau ein aus der linken Teilung wachsender goldener doppelschwänziger Löwe mit ausgeschlagener roter Zunge; Feld 2 und 3: in Gold je eine bewurzelte grüne Fichte mit schwarzem Stamm und schwarzen Wurzeln; Feld 4: in Blau auf grünem Berg ein goldener Stein, belegt mit einem schwarzen 'R'.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on January 22, 1992.
The village was on plateau in the middle of the Thüringer Wald, the borders of the municipality historically were marked with border stones with an R, which is symbolised in the base of the arms. The lion in the upper half is taken from the arms is derived from the arms of the Counts of Schwarzberg, who historically ruled the area. The two pine trees symbolise the Thüringer Wald forest as well as the importance of forestry for the village.
