MANDERSCHEID
State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Bernkastel-Wittlich (until 1969 Wittlich)
Verbandsgemeinde : Verbandsgemeinde Wittlich-Land (until 2014 Verbandsgemeinde Manderscheid)
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
Manderscheid got city rights in 1332 from the Lords (later Counts) of Manderscheid-Kerpen, but the village never developed into a proper city. There are no seals of arms known from the city. The present arms were devised in this century and show the arms of the Lords of Manderscheid.
The arms by Hupp in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925 |
