7TH THURINGIAN INFANTRY REGIMENT NO 96, GERMANY
Garrison 1914: Gera (I and II Bns), Rudolstadt (III Bn) and Coburg (III Bn)
Raised: 1867 of Troops from the Duchy Sachsen-Altenburg, Principality of Reuss and the Principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt
The Sachsen-Altenburg contingent left in 1897 to form Infantry Regiment No 153, thier place was taken by a newly raised Battalion of Prussian Soldiers.
