Official blazon
- (de) In Blau ein wachsender, silberner zweistöckiger Turm, das untere Stockwerk gemauert, mit rundbogiger Toröffnung und mit Zinnen, das obere glatt, zurückspringend und mit beiderseits ausladenden Zinnen; darüber ein goldenes, gleichschenkliges und geradarmiges Tatzenkreuz, oben besteckt mit einer silbernen, oben und unten von silbernen Perlen eingefaßten Bischofsmütze mit goldenen fliegenden Bändern.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on July 30, 1971.
The cross, mitre and gold and blue colours all symbolise the former State and diocese of Lübeck, as the bishops of Lübeck ruled most of the former district of Eutin. The castle is derived from the old Oldenburg district arms.
