BIERBACH
State : Saarland
District (Kreis) : Saarpfalz Kreis
Incorporated into : 1974 Blieskastel
Official blazon
- (de)
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on November 8, 1954.
The arms show a canting bend (Bach=stream, brook), the Bierbach, which starts in the local forests, which is indicated by the green colour. The escutcheon shows the image of St. Pirminius, who, in the 8th century, brought Christianity to the region, and after whom the Pir(mins)bach, later Bierbach is supposedly named.
