GREVEN LINKS DER EMS
State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
District (Kreis) : Steinfurt (until 1975 Münster)
Amt : Amt Greven
Incorporated into : 1952 Greven
German |
Origin/meaningThe arms were officially granted on January 26, 1939. The bars are derived from the arms of the Von Schonebeck family, the oldest known owners of the Schöneflieth estate in the municipality. The blue right half and the division line refer to the Ems river. As no colours were known for the family arms, the colours of Amt Greven were chosen.
