Origin/meaningThe arms were officially granted in 1937, but are based on the 17th century seal of the village. The upper half shows the diamonds of the Wittelsbach family, Counts of the Pfalz. Oftersheim belonged to the Pfalz until 1802. The meaning of the snake in the lower half is not known.
