Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 29, 1965.

The upper part shows the facade of the former seat of the district and municipality, which was destroyed in 1944. For a long time it was the most prominent building in the village. The base shows the chequered shield of the Sponheim County, to which the village historically belonged.
