Origin/meaning
The arms were designed and adopted in 1903.
The oldest known seal of the village dates from the middle of the 18th century and shows a wheel. The wheel also appeared on the border stones of the municipality and in a later 19th century seal, where the wheel was place din a shield.
In 1903 the State Archives proposed the above arms, based on the wheel, but now shown as a water mill wheel (addition of blades on the outside). The reason why the wheel was changed is not known. The colours are those of Baden.
