Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on June 8, 1936.
The arms are based on the arms of the Lords of Hördem who lived in the local castle from 1476 until the 17th century. The beech leaf is an addition to the family arms and is a canting symbol (Boke=Buche=beech).
