Origin/meaningThe Colours Redf and White are those of the old Hanseatic League, symbolising the Free Trade across the Seas. The Five White Stars indicated the original five Corvettes of the Squadron, The Red Stars symbolises the Staff, Systems Support Group and the Training Center of the Squadron. The Swords and Blue Shield symbolises Preparedness to defend the Freedom of the German People. The Chess Knight which is placed between the Pesants and the Queen and King on the Chess Board, just as the Corvette is placed between larger Warships and smaller ones.
