Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on March 29, 1996.
The axe in the upper half symbolises the -rode part of the name, roden meaning clearing of forest. The spindle and thread on the division line symbolises the traditional textile industry in the village since medieval times. The lower half shows wavy bars for the Wipper river.
