Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 28, 1953.

The village was founded in the 11th century by the Counts of Bogen. Later the village was a possession of the Eycher family and since 1450 of the Nussberger family. The arms combine the arms of the Eycher (silver/blue) and the Nussberger (bar) families. The blue and silver are also the colours of the arms of the Counts of Bogen.
