Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on May 18, 2001.
The arms show a snake, which is taken from the nickname of the villagers. The wheel is the symbol of the State of Mainz to which the area historically belonged. The cross also refers to Mainz, but, together with the key to the local church, devoted to St. Peter (key). The hook is a canting element for the -rode part of the name (Roden means clearing forest).
