Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on November 14, 1978.

The arms show in the upper part the arms of the former territories to which the municipality belonged; the chevrons of the County Hanau-Münzenberg, and the cross of the State of Fulda. The lower part shows the two rivers Kinzig and Sinn that flow through the municipality.
