Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on January 17, 1973.
The silver bar in red refers to the historical Schönecken District of the State of Trier, which now forms a large part of the Verbandsgemeinde. The lion is the arms of the Katzenelnbogen County, to which also a large part of the area historically belonged. The bordure is the typical symbol for a Verbandsgemeinde.
