Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on September 24, 1985.

The ammonite is a symbol for the many fossils that can be found in the municipality. The water mill wheel symbolises the six historical water-mills in the two villages. The black cross is the symbol of the Teutonic Knights, who ruled the village of Lucklum for a long period of time.
