Origin/meaning
The arms of Lippstadt District were granted on September 26, 1936.
The arms are a combination of the arms of the State of Köln and the rose of Lippe. The southern part of the district was part of the diocese of Köln from the 14th century until 1802. The rose of Lippe is taken from the arms of Lippe and Lippstadt-city.
