Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 18, 1965.

The lion in the right half is the lion of the Lords of Oberstein, to which the area historically belonged. The hand refers to the former court on the Malberg in the municipality. The base shows three hills, the Malberg, Ebertskopf and Habichtsberg.
