Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on March 16, 1982.

The red and silver colours as well as the bend ar etaken from the arms of the Counts of Frontenhausen in the 12th and 13th century Lords of Loiching. After their extinction the territory became part of the State of Regensburga nd in the 14th century part of Bayern. The bar and the colours were also part of the arms of the State of Regensburg. The fish and key are taken from the seal of the Chapter of the Regensburg Cathedral. The key is the symbol of St. Peter, one of the patron saints of the local church. The fish also symbolises the Isar river.
