Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on September 11, 1996.
The arms indicate that the municipality was situated in the two historical regions Altmark and Börde. The eagle is the symbol for the Altmark. The rye ears are taken from the old seal of the village, which showed a savage holding several stalks of rye.
