Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 13, 1965.

The arms refer with the arrow, spear and battle-mace to the Battle of Gammelsdorf from 1313 where (the later Emperor) Ludwig of Bayern defeated Duke Friedrich of Austria. The colours blue and silver are the colours of Bayern.
