Origin/meaning
The arms were granted in 1909.
The arms are identical to the arms of the Lords of Nehren, a branch of the Lords of First. The latter already used the single silver chevron in a red field. The family became extinct in 1419. The village and estate of Nehren did not use the arms, but in the 17th century used simply a letter N on the border stones. When in the early 20th century most municipalities applied for arms, the local council applied for the arms of the medieval family.
