Wappen von Oberbaldingen/Arms (crest) of Oberbaldingen
Official blazon
German Unter goldenem Schildhaupt, darin eine liegende schwarze Hirschstange, in Blau zwei abgewendete silberne Karpfen.

Origin/meaning

The arms were designed in 1903 and adopted by the municipality in 1904.

The arms show in the lower half the canting arms of the Lords of Karpfen (karpfe=carp) and in the upper half a deer antler for Württemberg. This should indicate that the village belonged to the Karpfen estate until 1377, when it became a possession of the Counts of Württemberg. These handed it in loan to others, but since 1444 until 1803 it belonged again to Württemberg.

There is, however, no historical proof of the fact that the village belonged to the Lords of Karpfen. Nevertheless, the municipality never changed the arms.
