Origin/meaning
The Wing was formerly 74th Fighter Wing "Mölders" named for the World War II Fighter Ace Werner Mölders. Following a decision that no one the Fought with the Legion Condor which supported Franco in the Spanish Civil War should be honoured by the German Armed Forces the name was dropped on 11 June 2005. The Wing the just become 74th Fighter Wing (in German JG (Jagdgeschwader) 74) as it was before 22 November 1973. Becoming on 1 October 2013 74th Tactical Air Force Wing.
