Origin/meaning
The new arms were officially granted in 2022.
The black bull is taken from the arms of the Von Plessen family (), former lords of the village. The spade refers to the medieval clearing of the forest for development of the village. The spear is the symbol for St. Thomas, the local patron saint.
The four rapeseed flowers symbolise agriculture and rapeseed is one of the main crops in the municipality.
The previous arms were granted in 2005:
The arms are nearly identical to the new arms above, but with a wavy division line for the Damshäger Bach (brook). Agriculture was represented by (sugar)beets, another major crop in the area.
