Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on ??

The arms are derived from elements of the arms of the Harkstroh and Griper families from Magdeburg. Bothe families had extensive possessions in the area in the 14th century. The colours ar ethose of the State of Magdeburg, to which the area historically belonged.
