Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on August 23, 1938.
The village was built like a fortress which is shown in the arms. There are still many legends about the tunnels under the fortress, which has now disappeared. The deer head is derived from the arms of the medieval Knights Von Freden, who had their castle just south of the village of Klein Freden.
The arms were continued after the merger by Freden.
