Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 28, 2013.

The wall refers to the -Burg (castle) part of the name. The sword and feathers refer to the first Prince of Anhalt, Heinrich I, as the are belonged in medieval times to the family of the Princes of Anhalt. Heinrich I used a sword on his coins and feathers on his crest.

The linden branch has 14 leaves, one for each of the former municipalities. A linden is also a historical symbol of justice as well as a common tree in the municipality.

The municipality also uses 14 bricks in the wall, also one for each of the municipalities, indicating that they are stronger together. The blazon, however, does not mention a number.
