ARMSTEDT
State : Schleswig-Holstein
District (Kreis) : Segeberg
Amt : Amt Bad Bramstedt-Land
German |
In Rot mit silbern geflammtem Schildhaupt ein erhöhter silberner Sparren, dessen Schenkel ei- nen auf einem goldenen Ast sitzenden goldenen Wiedehopf einschließen. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on April 10, 1986.
The chevron is a canting element, symbolising a bend arm, even though the name has nothing to do with a human arm. The hoopoe was a common bird in the region until the marshes were drained for agricultural land.
The flames are a symbol for the many threats to which the villagers were exposed during the centuries (fire, floods...).
