English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on April 27, 1966.
The lion in the upper half is taken from the arms of the Counts of Zweibrücken, who already had possessions in the area in medieval times. The wavy bend is canting for Breitenbach (broad-river) and the base indicated the agricultural character of the municipality.
Literature: Debus, 1988
