Origin/meaning
The arms were adopted in 2021.
The arms combine elements from the old arms of Hisel (cross) and Brimingen (see below). In the chief the 5 rings from the old arms were increased to 7 for the 2 former estates in the Hisel territory.
The previous arms were granted on February 21, 1992.
The five rings in the chief symbolise the former estates in the municipality. The gold and red colours are derived from the arms of the Counts of Manderscheid-Blankenheim. The lower part shows the symbol of one of the Estates, founded in 1730. It symbolises a plant growing from the fertile ground, making it also an appropriate symbol for the mainly agricultural village.
