Wappen von Gau-Odernheim/Arms (crest) of Gau-Odernheim
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The oldest seal dates from 1286 and already shows a King's head with two wings. All later seals until the 17th century show the same composition. In the 17th century the image was replaced by the imperial eagle. In 1698 the old figure was restored, and a female figure was added as a supporter behind the shield. The present arms were granted in 1961 and do no longer show the supporter.

Wappen von Gau-Odernheim

The arms by Hupp in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925

Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
