Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on October 30, 1985.

The three rye ears are canting (Rogge=rye). The black beaver is taken from the arms of the founder of the Roggenbueren Abbey, the Counts of Bibereck. The silver and black quarterings are taken from the arms of the (Hohen)Zollern family, and are taken from the arms of Countess Demutha von Zollern, wife of the founder of the abbey.
