English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on August 29, 1967.

The bend is a canting element for the Stamm- part of the name, which means tree trunk (or thick branch). The crosier refers to the powerful Hirsau Abbey, to which the area belonged in medieval times.

The composition dates from around 1930 when the local seal showed a shield with a tree trunk and a crosier behind the shield. This was continued in the second seal from 1938. Only in 1967 the two were combined in the shield.
