English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on December 13, 1432 by Duke Johann of Bayern. The arms have not changed since, except for the colours. The present colours have been used since around 1850.
The knight most likely symbolises a defender of the city during the Hussite wars in the 15th century. The fish is a canting element, it is described as a Rötel.
