Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on November 2, 1938.
The arms are based on the late 18th century seal of the village The origin of the arms is not known, although it has been stated that the arms were designed by Prinz Philipp von Hessen as a canting element (Stier should have been derived from Stern or Gestirne, meaning stars or star-constellation). The colours are those of the State of Mainz, to which the village historically belonged.
