Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 21, 1982.

The arms were officially granted in 1982, but have already been used in the late 19th, early 20^th century as such. The oldest use of the five trees dates, however, already from the local seal, known since 1546. The arms show 5 trees, probably a canting symbol for the Wald- (=forest) part of the name.
