HOEVENEN

Province : Antwerpen
Incorporated into : 1977 Stabroek

Wapen van Hoevenen/Coat of arms (crest) of Hoevenen

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

These arms were never granted.

Hoevenen never had its own seal or arms. However on December 9, 1968 the local council decided to apply for the arms as shown above.

The village historically belonged to the Estate of Ettenhoven and Ekeren, and the last feudal lords were the Princes of Salm-Salm. The proposal showed the arms of Ekeren impaled with two salmon, taken from the arms of the Princes of Salm-Salm.

Why the arms were not granted, I do not know.
