English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on May 31, 1982.
The six ears represent the six villages in the municipality. The colour green symbolises agriculture. The gold and black are taken from the medieval Counts of Hessen. The blue bend symbolises the Schwalm river and the water mill wheel the former 7 mills in the river, hence the seven blades.
The chief shows part of the local traditional costume, see also Willingshausen.
