Origin/meaning

The arms were published in 1956, but I don't know whether the arms were actually adopted.

The arms are based on the oldest seal of the village, known from 1696. It shows a cross on some unknown element, which could be a horseshoe or a circle or half of a ball. It has been speculated that it symbolised the Himmelskron monastery, or that it symbolised the Kur-Pfalz (Palatine), as both owned the village for some time. In the first case the arms could be canting, a crown (Kron) with a cross (Himmel=heaven). In the second it could have been an orb, as the Counts Palatine elected the emperor.
