OESLAU

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Coburg
Incorporated into : 1971 Rödental

Wappen von Oeslau/Arms (crest) of Oeslau
Official blazon
German

Gespalten von Rot und Silber; vorne ein silberner Schräglinksbalken, hinten pfahlweise drei rote heraldische Rosen.

English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were devised and adopted in 1960 and are a combination of the arms of two local noble families. The bend in the right part of the shield is the arms of the Lords of Lobdeburg, who acquired the area in 1180. In 1340 the village became a possession of the Lords of Rosenau, whose canting arms are the three roses. They owned the village until the late 16th century.
