PELKUM

State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
District (Kreis) : until 1974 Unna
Additions : 1968 Amt Pelkum (partly), Herringen, Lerche, Sandbochum, Weetfeld
Incorporated into : 1974 Hamm

Wappen von Pelkum/Arms (crest) of Pelkum
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms are identical to the arms of Herringen. The upper part is taken from the arms of the Lords of Herringen. The miner's tools indicate the importance of mining in the municipality and the lower part shows the symbol of the estate Isenbeck in the municipality.

The arms are now used of the Bezirk Herringen of the city of Hamm.

Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
